November 2025 – Katie Taylor, Hestia House

Katie Taylor presented at the National Palliative Care and Homelessness Network in November 2025. Katie is a Mental Health Nurse with over 20 years’ experience of working with minoritised people in various roles both in the NHS and more recently in the voluntary sector. Katie is the Director of Specialist Services in YMCA Together, leading services which include mental health, domestic abuse and rehabilitation provision. Katie also leads Hestia House, a highly specialised residential care home which is unique in that the team provides a community for people who are experiencing homelessness and have an identified care need. Hestia House provides a safe and caring community for people who are experiencing homelessness are at the end of their life, are often in active addiction and have multiple and complex needs. All care is provided in partnership with other specialist teams through established pathways and integrated working, to ensure that people are supported to live a good life, ending with a good death.
