Launch of IMPROVE evaluation test sites – 8th Jan 2025

We are delighted to announce that evaluation of the Intervention to Optimise Palliative Care for People Experiencing homelessness (the ‘IMPROVE’) Programmewill start in January 2026 and will run to December 2026.
During this evaluation, 10 sites across the UK will run the newly updated version of the 8 x 1.5-2 hour monthly session Community of Practice programme. The programme aims to support local communities of practice to improve palliative and end of life care for people experiencing homelessness in their areas.
Research questionnaires and observations at all sites will be used to understand whether the content helps promote the designed outcomes:
- Increased knowledge of palliative care and homelessness
- Increased connections between attendees from a range of professional backgrounds
- Decreased burn out and feeling of isolation among people participating
- Improvement in patient service delivery
The sites are:
- Camden and Islington
- Hereford
- Kingston and Richmond
- Leeds
- North East London ICB area
- Nottingham and Mansfield / Nottinghamshire
- Oxford
- Sheffield
- Watford
- Wolverhampton, Walsall, Dudley and Sandwell
